We have been notified by our leasing agent that our contract for a portion of the parking spaces in the H/RX overflow parking areas located on Hillsborough Road will be terminated effective January 7, 2003.  We will retain approximately 150 of the 450 spaces currently available. The affected spaces are located in the gravel parking lot directly behind the First Union Building and the small paved lot directly across Hillsborough Road from that lot.  The large paved lot on the north side of Hillsborough Road will be retained. 

To offset this loss of parking, we have leased an additional 90 parking spaces located on 15^th Street between Main Street and Hillsborough Road effective January 1, 2003 from Grey Stone Baptist Church.  These spaces will be in addition to the 105 spaces we currently lease from Grey Stone Baptist Church.

Additionally, we are negotiating a lease to obtain up to 400 parking spaces at another location located within the vicinity of the Medical Center.  Once the lease is finalized we will provide information regarding effective date, location and bus service.

We are also in the process of releasing spaces within the various gated lots and parking garages based on availability.  People on the respective waiting lists will be notified as their name comes up.
